John Byrne Draws...
X-Men #118, page 1 by John Byrne & Ricardo Villamonte. 1979.
John shared this story about working on this issue:

When Terry was not able to ink the book, I asked if I could. Shooter said my inks were not “good enough”, and assigned instead an inker who was completely unfamiliar with the characters — but who had just inked an issue of THE AVENGERS. So he “fixed” my Wolverine, all the way thru, turning him into the Beast. Marie Severin was called in to restore my faces, and she did a good job, all things considered, but there wasn’t much she could really do.
Really makes you wonder how my inks could have been any worse, doesn’t it?
